TRANSPORTATION GAS SERVICE
When switching to transportation gas service, please follow these steps to make the transition easier:
- Notify UGI Central Penn Gas of your intent to switch to
an alternate gas supplier and give UGI Central Penn Gas
written permission to release your account information.
• Verify your request by providing UGI Central Penn Gas
your company name, account number and address.
Monthly Delivery Service
UGI Central Penn Gas observes a 10-day period from the date you
request to switch to an alternate gas supplier to give you an opportunity to review your decision.
If you do not contact UGI Central Penn Gas within the 10-day
period, we will make the change to the new gas
supplier within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation
letter by mail. It includes the name of
the pool operator, the applicable billing option,
the date delivery service is to begin and the
date your first invoice will be mailed.
Daily Delivery Service
UGI Central Penn Gas will mail you a rate contract, telephone
line installation instructions and an invoice for
telemetering devices, including any incidental
costs associated with the installation. The rate
contract is a document specifying the rate you
have chosen. It must be signed prior to your
rate change.
Telephone Installation Specifications
You must have
a dedicated
phone line
installed near
the gas meter.
You pay for
the installation,
monthly
bill and maintenance
of this phone line. The phone line must
be installed prior to the installation of telemetering
equipment by our meter technician.
Invoice for the Installation
of Telemetering Equipment
You must pay UGI Central Penn Gas for the installation of metering
equipment that enables you, UGI Central Penn Gas and your supplier
to get daily gas usage information from the
meter. The installation cost varies depending on
metering pressure. See your industrial account
representative for specific installation costs.
After UGI Central Penn Gas receives payment for the telemetering
installation, a signed delivery service contract
and the number for your dedicated phone line,
we will make arrangements to have our meter
technician install the necessary equipment. We
must receive all of those items by the 20th of the
month prior to your requested start date.
